To let the moments unfold

Blessed be those who are losing the ability to worry,
who have met their fears and are slowly accepting them,
realising that life, love, and loss are all gifts intertwined,
fellow travellers, inseparable companions on their journey.
They are paddling with the river, rounding the bends.

Blessed be those with the wisdom to let moments unfold,
without planning, making, and guiding things to happen,
who have the courage to let life meet them and teach them,
rather than telling life when and what it can and can’t do.
They are paddling with the river, rounding the bends.

Blessed be those who have no interest in controlling others,
and in the conflicts that ensue, consume, and destroy,
seeking instead to find the good in the other, even if hard,
for somewhere somehow way back we are all related.
They are paddling with the river, rounding the bends.

Blessed be those who let laughter come in, break smiles,
tell tall tales, and stay, a place set in their heart for friends
and friends-to-be, whoever passes their way, the worriers,
the weary, the wanting, all who need the good food of grace.
They are paddling with the river, rounding the bends.

Blessed be those who are learning to expect nothing, happily,
to judge not, even when they are judged, to judge not their self,
giving thanks for each moment met, each wee morsel received,
enjoying what is and will be, without wanting any more or less.
They are paddling with the river, rounding the bends.
